11 years

11 years

Weary, fading, hopeless, grey

Eleven years ago,

Between life and the pumping of the machine,

The endless drudge to live..

But then, that phone call

Those feelings transformed in a flash to fear… no wonder… no gratitude…

Or maybe just blank… don’t think… don’t feel,

Just in case.

But that was eleven years ago.

And now the long road back, with new routines

Have given you another chance

To live, to laugh, to support and love.

And me?

I’m thankful to be given that chance too,

And know you are still there.

Hi, my husband Rob Finnigan is a transplant patient and I have been a carer for many years through the many facets of his illness.
